V & V Gaea Coffins is the premier manufacturer and supplier of eco friendly biodegradable coffins and urns in the UK. Our products are made to the highest possible standards of quality and ethical production. Many of our products are made in the UK, but whether we manufacture goods outside of the UK or EU, they are produced in carefully monitored workshops committed to improving the working conditions of local craftsmen and also sustaining the surrounding natural environment. All products are 100% natural and biodegradable with no plastic, metals, screws or staples used in their construction.

We use no nails, screws or staples in any of our coffins.
All the materials we use are carefully chosen for their sustainability as well as low impact during harvesting
We don’t use Seagrass as harvesting this aquatic plant destroys the habitat for many fish and has the important job of soaking up carbon dioxide from the seafloor, locking it away indefinitely. Seagrass is therefore an incredibly important plant which needs to be conserved. Pandanus, on the other hand, which we use instead, is a prolific and rapidly growing weed which thrives anywhere on land, even in adverse conditions. When woven it is almost indistinguishable from Seagrass.
Our cardboard products are made from carton board materials produced from unbleached pulp containing a minimum 70% recycled paper, plus wood pulp sourced from sustainable forests. Only natural starch based glues are used, no other fixings and the handles are made from natural woven cotton.
Our bespoke painted coffins are only painted in water based, environmentally friendly paints.

At V&V Gaea Coffins we have taken a look at the market and understand that most clients opt for funeral homes whereby they are placed with options of fixed packages which included products and services that cannot be altered…how can something so personal, become so un-personalised? This does not suite the client needs. We have found that clients are disheartened by this and end up forking out for a funeral that has parts which were not wanted.
Here at Gaea coffins we have ensured that we work differently as a reputable bespoke company, we offer all our clients the chance to personalise their whole funeral using specialist services and suppliers that support this.
All our coffins are biodegradable and clients are able to personalise our products to suit their needs to honour their loved ones, or meet a loved one’s request.
We offer services such as order of service, professional eulogy writing as well as printing options to ensure that you have peace of mind and a stress-free order to represent your loved one in a unique way.
We also know how important it is to share personal touches to represent your loved one to ensure their memory lives on.
We offer a service of personalised mementos to ensure that our clients are able to have a piece of memorabilia personal to their loved ones memory in a small but personal way this could be as simple as a recipe engraved on a wooden spoon if your loved one enjoyed cooking etc.
We also have ensured that we are able to provide clients with resources such as venue hire, transport, catering, just to name a few. In a nut shell V&V Gaea Coffins can do it all! We are committed to supporting our clients throughout the whole experience.
You shouldn’t have to wait until you’re gone before planning can take place as we offer our creative memorial ideas booklet which enables our client to gain and share their personal ideas and wishes with their loved ones as well as us to create the perfect send off.
We are a small independent company that sell our coffins directly to the public with no hidden charges or fees to our products or services.
The only service we do not provided is dealing with the deceased directly, clients will need to make alternative arrangements for this but we do offer support to all our client’s needs.
